Youth Cow Camp in Taranaki, NZ!

This youth cow camp has been one of the things I have been looking into doing, it is in Taranaki, NZ. They teach you how to lead and groom heifer calves. This year the 4 day event had 23 participants all from NZ, 5 of them were from Southland. Each participant had their own heifer calf, they had to feed, groom and teach to lead on the halter so they would be show ring ready. There were workshops on animal health, breeding and showmanship skills, they were also taught how to use electric clippers to trim the heifer's coat. They had 10+ sponsors and the age ranges from 10 - 21yrs. If you are interested but you don't live on a farm you can still enter as it is open to everyone.
