Possum Trapping!

Possum Trapping, is one of those things were you either do it or not, you have to commit to doing, but other than that it is SO fun. The best bits of Possum Trapping is that you are helping the plants, trees & birds. I haven't been trapping long and I already have lots of possums.

I do this because you can earn a lot of money from the possum's fur, e.g. 1kg=$100! We only trap in winter because that is when they get there winter fur, you can trap in summer but they have lots less fur and the quality is not as good. You are probably thinking why would you want possum fur? Well people actually use it for clothing in-fact it makes good beanies, gloves and other winter clothes! Some places I drop my fur off to in NZ would be Dunedin, Timaru, Christchurch and lots of other places.

Yes, you have to take good care of your possum traps and you also have to check your possum traps everyday. It is so easy to track your possum traps and make a record of the possums you have caught with www.trap.nz all you have to do is login, place in your address and then set your traps, (it might not be the exact place you set them though).
